A Home-going celebration celebrating the life of Mr. Johnnie Lee Bonner who passed away on June 14, 2022 will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 2 PM at Harmon Funeral Home 5002 N. 40th St., Tampa, FL 33610 with the minister officiating.

Home going services celebrating the life of Jim Lee Stafford Jr who served his country honorably in the U S Army before passing away on June 16, 2022 in the James A Haley Veterans Hospital will be held Saturday June 25, 2022 at 12noon, at Harmon Funeral Home 5002 North 40th Street Tampa, Florida 33610 with Pastor Arthur Randall officiating. Interment with military honors will be rendered in Florida National Cemetery on Monday June 27, 2022.
Jim was born to Rosa Lee Moore, mother and Jim Lee Stafford Sr, father on March 31, 1958.
Jim was a graduate of Leto High School, home of the Falcons, in 1976. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Army for 3 years and received an Hon. discharge. He worked in construction for a number of years and later employed by Coleman American Van lines. Jim loved people, but most of all he loved the Lord and he was a child of God.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Jim Lee Stafford, Sr; mother Rosalie Moore; sister Rose M. Buie Randall, and brother Irvin Moore Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories 1 son Roderick L Stafford and wife Jasmine; 1 daughter Shalonda Roberts; 3 grandsons Robert Fletcher III; Roderick L Stafford Jr, and Rashawn R. Stafford; 2 granddaughters Rashonda Fletcher, and Ronisha Fletcher; 5 great grandsons Earl Williams Jr, Isaiah Young, Tar’keith Muldrew, Jayceon Muldrew, and Tayden Muldrew; 1 great-granddaughter E’liyah Williams; brothers Carnell Buie Jr and wife Mary, and Gregory Stafford; 2 sisters Ethel Stafford Childs, Annita Stafford Young and husband Fred; sister-in-law Birdie Moore; a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, and cousins including the entire Walker, Tolbert and Stafford families; a devoted friend Linda Mann Hardy; best friend Eddie Lester, and the 38th Ave. neighbors. On June 6, 2022 Mr Avery Simms received his precious wings and is now with the Lord. Home-going services are scheduled for Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 1 PM at New Salem Primitive Baptist Church, 1605 North Nebraska Avenue Tampa, FL 33602, Pastor Tony Hawkins pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Avery was a resident of Tampa, Florida for the first half of his life where he lived with extended family. As a young boy he was a rebel without a cause and was ultimately raised by the streets. After many years of trial and tribulations he moved to the Bronx, New York where he resided until his last day. He was a born Hustler. At a young age he showed no desire to work for others and focused on the path of entrepreneurship. Avery was active in the music industry for years. He had a thriving watermelon business where he was able to bless a few people with employment. He shared with many and would give his last to anyone in need.
Avery was preceded in death by his father Nathaniel Sims Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother Ozell, his sisters Rachel, Valerie, Princess, Tevolia and Josephine and his brothers David and Nathaniel; special 1st cousin Demitrius Gibbs; Along with us, there are a host of family members and friends who will miss him dearly and cherish his Memories forever.

A home going celebration for Mrs. Vernell Montfort McBride who passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 1 PM at New Bethel Progressive Missionary Baptist Church 2914 E. North Bay St., Tampa, FL 33610 Pastor Reginald T Webb officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Vernell was born on December 19, 1930 in Vienna Georgia. Vernell was married to her loving husband Elliott McBride Senior for 64 years until his death in 2008.
Mrs. McBride was a faithful member of New Bethel Progressive Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was vice president of mission No. 2; Treasurer and a member of the Gospel Voices of Praise.
She was a seamstress for Sunstate and Gator of Florida Garment factories. Vernell enjoyed cooking sewing word search puzzles and family gatherings. She was a devoted mother.
Sister Vernell McBride was preceded in death by her husband Elliott McBride Senior, her parents Henry and Nancy Montfort; step-son Elder Elliott McBride; sisters Henry Mae Glenn, Nancy Mae Farrington, Effie Bell Bradford, and Marie Robinson; 1 brother JD Montfort; aunts Annie Mae Williams and Drucilla White; uncle Ira Heath and a host of nieces and nephews.
